Guided Surf Trips

Situated at the northern most aspect of Aotearoa, with both east and west coasts within an hour of each other, lends itself to finding a surfable wave on most days of the week. More recently Kelly has started running guided surf trips - Wāhine Surf Trippin’

Surf Trippin is a concerted effort to get back to the original essence of an surf trip - to get as salty and surfed out as possible. They lean closer to adventure than retreat, and yet in the guiding words of The Huts aim to provide a balance between that which is essential and that little something extra. That little something extra is;

The trips are guided. This takes the mental load out of deciding where to go, when to go, where to paddle out. The guides are also some of Aotearoas best women surfers, and provide in water surf tips.

We have a cook providing three meals a day - nourishing, delicious meals to keep us surfing.

A photographer is on hand to catch moments from the trip - leaving you to enjoy every moment.

Catering for women from intermediate ability and up, there are two ways to go about it.

Set dates with up to 6 guests

Guided trips exploring both coasts, with two guides, a supporter, a photographer, and a chef. Maximum 6 guests. 

On call with up to 4 guests.

Smaller guided experiences can be organised at shorter notice to align with surf conditions for groups of up to four. One guide, photographer and cook.

Surf Lessons

Stay at The Huts and learn to surf with a local Surf Coach. Happy to sort this out for your stay! Ahipara is such a wonderful place to both learn and develop your surfing and relationship with the ocean. Sand bottom beach and point breaks. One of the longest left hand point breaks in the world at your door step.
